James & Katherine Andrews Young Artist Instrumental Competition
Saturday, January 22, 2011, 9 a.m.
Hosmer Hall, SUNY Potsdam
All North Country high school students are invited to participate in this fifth annual instrumental competition and receive feedback from a panel of professional musicians. Cash prizes will be awarded and the winner will be featured with the Orchestra's March "Sounds of the Cinema" concert program.

Annual Practice-A-Thon
March 1-31, 2011
Here is an opportunity for our younger audience members to do big things for their orchestra, by practicing! In honor of Music in Our Schools Month, students are invited to keep track of how much they practice in one week during the month of March.

Teachers, friends, neighbors and family members sponsor the student for each minute practiced during that week. Proceeds benefit future educational initiatives of the Orchestra of Northern New York. Awards will be given to students for most hours practiced and most money raised in two age categories. Please contact the ONNY office or see your music teacher for details.
