Kevin Angstadt is the Vice President of the Board and serves as ONNY’s volunteer Website and Technology Director.  He has helped to maintain ONNY’s website since 2013, and his role has expanded to support the orchestra’s digital initiatives through the design, development, and management of the various technology platforms needed to support blended programming.  In January 2022, he was elected to ONNY’s Board of Directors.

Angstadt is an assistant professor of computer science at St. Lawrence University. His professional activities have broad impact, including developing statistical software used by more than two million students around the world, publishing numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts in top conferences and journals, leading the technical development of research prototypes for federally funded projects, and mentoring student researchers. Additionally, Kevin is a committed educator with significant training in facilitating and assessing student learning in post-secondary education.  He enjoys teaching a breadth of computer science courses, ranging from introductory programming courses to upper-level systems and theory seminars.

Kevin holds a Bachelor’s degree from St. Lawrence University, a Master’s degree from the University of Virginia, and a PhD from the University of Michigan.  From 2014–2017, Kevin was an Olive B. and Franklin C. Mac Krell Fellow at the Jefferson Scholars Foundation, a nationally recognized—and premier—merit graduate fellowship at the University of Virginia. He is a member of: the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM); the Phi Beta Kappa (liberal arts and sciences), Tau Beta Pi (engineering), Pi Mu Epsilon (mathematics), and Delta Phi Alpha (German) national academic honor societies; and the Ives Society (music) at St. Lawrence University.
