Visions and Reflections
This concert will open with one of Mozart’s sparkling, effervescent overtures and continues with Dolores White’s Crystal Gazing, a meditative and mysterious piece, inviting us to muse on both the visible and spiritual qualities of crystals. In Le Tombeau du Couperin, Ravel pays homage both to his Baroque predecessors and to friends he had lost to the First World War. The concert will culminate with the soaring and glorious Second Symphony by Jean Sibelius.
